Ireland’s Original Craft Beer Pub celebrates its 100th Craft Beer addition
Now stocking 100 Irish and International craft beers, Ireland’s original craft beer pub, Brewery Corner in Kilkenny, offers the country’s largest selection of craft beers. ‘Craft Beer Bar of the Year’, Brewery Corner has launched its summer programme offering an authentic craft beer experience.
Brewery Corner was created by Seamus O’ Hara, CEO and co-founder of O’ Hara’s Brewery (also known as Carlow Brewing Company), Ireland’s leading craft beer producer almost 20 years in business. The pub was Ireland’s first exclusively craft beer bar and is celebrating two years success in Kilkenny City.
“Our pub is located just 15 minutes from the brewery in the bustling city of Kilkenny and is an important part of our brewery offer. Patrons are invited for exclusive tastings and we enjoy introducing craft beer lovers and novices alike to the new beers and ciders we are bringing to market. We offer something different in Kilkenny and are looking forward to a packed programme of summer events” said Seamus O’ Hara.
Brewery Corner’s Summer Programme will see craft beer tastings, exclusive site visits to O’ Hara’s Brewery, a range of live music events and specially created summer menus using the finest local artisan producers. Its summer events kick off this weekend with a number of Sky Cat Laughs Comedy Festival performances.
‘Trad Thursdays’ and Saturday night DJ sets with Shane Tobler AKA ‘Foreign Affair’ (Swiss born, now Kilkenny resident) are proving particularly popular with special nights showcasing the best local performing artists. Patrons of Brewery Corner get to sample new O’ Hara’s Brewery craft beers and ciders first and monthly tastings have grown over the past two years.
Part of Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile, Brewery Corner serves the full O’ Hara’s Brewery range as well as a handpicked selection of Ireland’s best craft beers and ciders on tap and bottled. The pub is also home to an extensive cellar of the best craft and speciality beers from around the world including rare gems from Belgium, Germany and the US. A selection of whiskeys and wines are also served.
Employing five people, Brewery Corner is part of O’ Hara’s Brewery recent success, announcing 12 new positions over the next three months and an investment of €1.5 million. With a range of award-winning craft beers available across Ireland, Europe and the US, the brewery has recently expanded into cider production employing 37 people from its Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow base.
