Kilkenny

where business moves faster

Outward-looking spirit of global enterprise

Kilkenny as a location for your company offers excellent connectivity, highly competitive business costs of at least 15% less than Dublin,  a favourable corporate tax rate of 12.5% and access to a highly educated, flexible labour force.

Kilkenny is strongly pro-business. A number of stakeholders such as the Chamber of Commerce, IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland actively work with Kilkenny County Council, Kilkenny County Enterprise Board and Kilkenny Leader Partnership to foster an environment in which your company can thrive. The business community is welcoming and the CEO's of Kilkenny's multinationals have found the enterprise supports to be positive and accomodating.

The Council Business Support Unit has a strategic role in promoting Kilkenny as a competitive business location and ensuring that the county’s business infrastructure and supports are continually improved to maintain its competitive advantage.  Because you want the best for your company, and that includes finding the right location, the Business Support Unit will  facilitate you in finding the best location, accessing information on available enterprise supports and providing streamlined access to Council services at a local level.

Demographically, Kilkenny's location gives you access to a highly skilled labour pool within a catchment population that spans West Dublin to Waterford City. Kilkenny has an excellent primary and secondary level educational system in place. At third-level, Kilkenny is home to NUI Maynooth's Kilkenny campus and to an ICT Research and Innovation Centre operated by Waterford Institute of Technology's Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG). Additionally, there are two Institutes of Technology within 30 minutes of the City. Many of the international companies located in Kilkenny have relationships with these Institutes and recommend the quality of students engaging in placement programmes.
